Brotzler, P.E., City Engineer Mf ti ATTACHMENTS: Maps APPROVED BY• A Wellhead Protection Plan (WHPP) is a tool used by a municipal water supplier to protect and safeguard the public water supply wells and source water aquifer from contamination. Barr Engineering Company was hired by the City of Rosemount to develop a plan that meets the requirements of the Wellhead Protection Program overseen by the Minnesota Department of Health. The City of Rosemount's Wellhead Protection Plan was developed in recognition of the specific land features and land activities unique to the Rosemount community. The WHPP shall serve as a resource for future land development and public education within the City of Rosemount. Pursuant to Minnesota Rule 4720.5350, a public water supplier must conduct a public hearing on the Well Head Protection Plan before submitting the plan to the Minnesota Department of Health for final approval. John Greer, of Barr Engineering Company has been asked by City staff to give a brief presentation of the City's WHPP, and respond to comments and questions as they are presented. City staff recommends Council make a motion to adopt the Wellhead Protection Plan as presented.
