RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to declare twenty seven (27) self- contained breathing
apparatus and twenty seven (27) spare bottles as surplus equipment.
ACTION:
ISSUE
This is a request for City Council to declare twenty seven (27) self- contained breathing
apparatus and twenty seven (27) spare bottles as surplus equipment. New units were
purchased through the 2004 CIP. They have been received and will be put into service as
soon as training is complete.
BACKGROUND
The old units may be of use to surrounding departments for spare parts. Those that are not
donated will be disposed of in the proper manner. The life for these units is one (1) year. For
this reason, it is doubtful we will be able to secure any form of compensation.
The fixed asset numbers for this equipment have been recorded.
SUMMARY
Staff recommends that twenty seven (27) self- contained breathing apparatus and twenty (27)
spare bottles as surplus equipment.
