Opportunity to thank citizens who find time and importance in giving back to the community.
BACKGROUND
DARTS is a non - profit organization that has been serving seniors since 1974.
DARTS volunteers in Rosemount have donated over 1400 hours of service in 2003.
A special event is being held to honor DARTS volunteers on September 16, 2004 and this
proposed proclamation would be made at the event, thanking the volunteers for their
contribution.
Colleen Fritsch, Director of Volunteer Resources for DARTS, will be present to give a brief
presentation. She welcomes the opportunity to bring awareness to the need of seniors and
publicly thank the volunteers that already participate.
SUMMARY
The drafted proclamation provides a way to recognize and thank the DARTS volunteers for
their contribution to the community by helping area seniors maintain their independence.

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, DARTS is a volunteer- based, non - profit organization that has been serving seniors
since 1974; and
WHEREAS, DARTS will be recognizing volunteers at the event Stats with a Heart on
September 16, 2004; and
WHEREAS, volunteers from Rosemount donated over 1400 hours of service to seniors in the
community in 2003; and
WHEREAS, because of this volunteer help seniors were able to remain safe and independent
because they had help with grocery shopping, or outdoor. chores, or just had a visitor.
NOW THEREFORE, the City of Rosemount recognizes the benefit that DARTS and its
volunteers have on strengthening the community of Rosemount. The Mayor and City Council
Members further extend their appreciation and thanks for this contribution of time and caring for
citizens in Rosemount.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, as Mayor of the City of Rosemount, I hereby do proclaim:
