Brotzler, P.E., City Engineer AG NO: 7 ATTACHMENTS; Resolution _ APPROVED BY: On February 3, 2004, the City Council received a feasibility report and adopted a resolution to order a public hearing for the Meadows of Bloomfield Street and Utility Improvements, City Project #380. The report addresses the construction of streets and utilities within the Meadows of Bloomfield development for Phases 1 -3. At this time the developer, Centex Homes, has submitted a final plat for approval for the Meadows of Bloomfield, Phase Land as the developer submits plats for future Phases, this report will be referenced when preparing the plans and specifications. The proposed improvements for Meadows of Bloomfield, Phase I include the construction of city streets, 8 -foot bituminous pathways, and 5 -foot concrete sidewalks. The proposed City street construction includes the extension of Connemara Trail from the east side of Biscayne Pointe 5t Addition, east to the future bridge over the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway main tracks that separate this section of Bloomfield from the Bloomfield 5 t ' - 7th Additions. 'Utility improvements include the construction of trunk and lateral watermain, trunk and lateral sanitary sewer, trunk and lateral storm sewer, and a sanitary sewer lift station: The total estimated project cost is $5,332,600 for Phase I. Centex Homes, the developer, will fund all lateral improvements. ` Costs associated with over- sizing of trunk sanitary sewer, trunk watermain, trunk storm, sewer and raw watermains will be financed through the use of City Core Funds in the estimated amount of $711,220. The cost for the construction of Connemara Trail west of the Meadows of Bloomfield site and east of the Biscayne Pointe 5t' site is proposed to be assessed to the adjoining properties. The proposed assessments are in the amount of $342,030.
