Reclassification of Human Resources/Communications Coordinator to Assistant City AdministratorCITY OF ROSEMOUNT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR ACTION CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: MARCH 1, 2004 AGENDA ITEM: RECLASSIFICATION OF HUMAN AGENDA NO: RESOURCES /COMMUNICATIONS CONSENT COORDINATOR TO ASSISTANT CITY ADMINISTRATOR PREPARED BY: JAMIE VERBRUGGE, "M#6,K CITY ADMINISTRATOR ATTACHMENTS: NONE APPROVED BY: When the position of Communications Coordinator was proposed to the City Council as part of the 2004 budget process, a discussion ensued regarding the effect it would have on other positions within the administration department. It was determined that at the time the City was ready to hire a Communications Coordinator, the Human Resources /Communications Coordinator position would be reclassified as Assistant City Administrator. The recruitment process for Communications Coordinator is now at a point where we are bringing forth this change in classification. In addition to other changes in responsibility, the Assistant City Administrator (Dawn Weitzel) will assume the supervisory responsibilities for the City Clerk, Communications Coordinator, and Receptionist. During the yearly compensation plan evaluation process, this newly created position will be reassessed for pay equity points and compensation.
