COUNCIL ACTION: DAVID A.P. ANDERSON SHANNON PKWY #403 ROSEMOUNT, MN 55068 (651) 428 -7303 HOME OR (651) 296 -4119 WORK February 13, 2004 Mayor Bill Droste Rosemount City Council Members Rosemount City Hall 2875 - 145th Street West Rosemount, MN 55068 Dear Bill and Council Members: In looking forward to the days ahead it is with both regret and with thanks that I am tendering my resignation from the Rosemount Planning Commission. My last meeting will be March 23, 2004. My wife and I are moving out of Rosemount and I felt that I should give as much notice as possible so that you as a planning body, could fill my role as Planning Commissioner and Vice - Chair, sooner rather than later, as you will be filling out our Jeff, our Chair's, position as well. It has been a very rewarding and challenging experience to serve as a Planning Commission Member. I would like to thank you Mayor Droste and the Council for allowing me to serve the residents of Rosemount. I commend the job Jeff did in chairing the Commission and the fine job, time and commitment that Terry, Myron and Jason have done as well. While we may not have always agreed on things we all had a successful working relationship that got the job done. The city should encourage others to serve as part of one of the city's commissions to become more aware and involved in the issues that make Rosemount such a special place to live. I would encourage the Mayor and Council to keep the residents and taxpayers interests in mind as you move forward towards development of downtown and new neighborhoods throughout Rosemount. Diversification of the tax base with more businesses and jobs is needed to keep Rosemount's tax base from a continual rise that only residential development creates. Furthermore, decisions should be based on the good of the community and be council driven not developer based. You are responsible to the residents and taxpayers of Rosemount not the board of directors of some LLC or Corporation. Again my sincerest thanks and best wishes for all of you for continued success in Rosemount. Sincerely, David Anderson Hard Copy Letter to Follow via US Mail
