ATTACHMENTS: E -MAIL APPROVED BY: RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION to set a Public Hearing for an application for a new liquor provider, Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar at the December 7, 2004 regular City Council meeting. ACTION: ISSUE Set a date for a public hearing to hear an application for a new liquor license, Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. BACKGROUND Applebee's has submitted an application for a 2005 liquor license. Their new restaurant plans to open January 15, 2005. A new applicant for liquor license requires a public hearing. Police Chief Kalstabakken reported that the investigation that has been conducted thus far would allow for a recommendation for approval. See the attached e-mail. SUMMARY Staff recommends holding a Public Hearing to consider the application for Applebee's liquor license on December 7, 2004 at the regular City Council meeting. They are recommended for a license. However, this is contingent on them designating a manager for the Rosemount site and that manager also being approved through the background process. Gary 1 CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2004 — RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CHANGE OF ROSEMOUNT CITY LOGO AND SLOGAN WHEREAS, the City has heretofore committed to updating the established City logo to convey pride in the community and encourage opportunities for growth and progress in economic. development; and WHEREAS, the City will proceed to obtain legal protection of the new design and key message for use by the City staff; and WHEREAS, the City has determined to replace the City of Rosemount paper stock requiring the City design in the normal course of business to avoid unnecessary expenditures; and WHEREAS, City staff will create and follow design guidelines that will maintain the consistency of the visual identity system and make it easier to implement in new usages. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Council of the City of Rosemount hereby approves the marketing logo retaining a green three- leafed shamrock followed by black print - ROSEMOUNT, this being underlined, and beneath that a statement, "SPIRIT OF PRIDE AND PROGRESS" as the professional representation of the City of Rosemount.
