ACTION:
BACKGROUND:
Change order #1, Meadows of Bloomfield and Meadows of Bloomfield 2 nd Addition Street and
Utility Improvements, includes the addition of <$13,704,35> to the original contract amount of
$3,785,848.40 for a new total of $3,772,144.05. The work included under Change Order #1
was the deletion of a storm sewer jacking under the Northern Natural Gas pipeline. The
contractor was able to perform this installation by open cut method and holding the pipeline
with slings. The contractor had asked for some compensation for the additional work to hold
the pipeline which was still a cost savings for the City and developer. Other work under
Change Order #1 was placing concrete under the rip rap for storm sewer flared end outlets
that are 36 inch in diameter or larger from the outlet to the bottom of the pond, and a
watermain offset to avoid a conflict with a storm sewer crossing. All work done was either at
the request of the developer, Centex Homes, or agreed upon by the contractor, developer
and City staff.
SUMMARY:

ITEM 276 - WATERMAIN OFFSET TO AVOID STORM SEWER CONFLICT.
ITEM 277 - GROUTED RIP RAP TO POND BOTTOM ON ALL FLARED END INLET STRUCTURES THAT ARE 36 INCHES IN DIAMETER OR GREATER
AS REQUESTED BY THE DEVELOPER.
