ACTION:
ISSUE:
Request for extension of work hours for Well #12 located in the Business Park.
BACKGROUND:
Attached is a letter from E. H. Renner & Sons, Inc. requesting an extension of their
work hours in order to complete Municipal Well #12. The City's Construction
Operations and Excessive Noise Ordinance, restricts work to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to
10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The
request by the contractor is to allow a start time of one hour early at 6:00 a.m., Monday
through Friday. As the project site is located within the Business Park with no adjacent
residential properties, an earlier start time of 6:00 a.m., Monday through Friday appears
to be acceptable. This extension of work hours will allow the contractor to double shift
his work to expedite the completion of the project.
SUMMARY:
Staff recommends Council extend the work hours as presented in the attached letter.

SUBJECT: Rosemount Municipal Well No 12
RE Double Shifting - Extending hours of work
Dear Mr. Brotzler,
E.H. RENNER & SONS, INC. is requesting an extension of work hours for the
completion of the Rosemount Municipal Well No 12 project.
We plan on double shifting the work until the project is complete. We would like to
begin work on the site beginning at 6:00 am and complete the days work at 10:00 pm
(Monday through Friday). We will also put a 9 hour day in on Saturdays beginning at
7:00am and completing by 4:00 pm. We are located in a remote area of the industrial
park and the activities should not bother anyone.
The request for extending the hours of work should only be for the Monday to Friday
period. We expect to be off site in three to four weeks.
