PREPARED BY: Dan Schultz, Parks & Recreation Director AGENDA NO: .0 ATTACHMENTS: Letter APPROVED BY: This is a request for Council to receive the'following donations: $7,000 from the Leprechaun Days — Mid Summer Fair Event (The. funds being received for the Mid Summer Faire portion of Leprechaun Days are to be spent as detailed in the attached letter from Joe Walsh.); a $536.71 donation from the Leprechaun Days Parade; a $7,404.80 donation from the General Operations Fund for the Leprechaun Days celebration; a $250 donation from Toombs Insurance Agency, LLC to be used for Safety Camp; and a $350 donation from The First State Bank of Rosemount also to be used for Safety Camp. Staff recommends the City Council approve receiving the donations RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve receiving a $7,000 donation from the Leprechaun Days — Mid Summer Fair Event to be spent as detailed in the attached letter by Joe Walsh, a $536.71 donation from the Leprechaun Days Parade; a $7,404.80 donation from the General Operations Fund for the Leprechaun Days celebration; a $250 donation from Toombs Insurance Agency, LLC to be used for Safety Camp; and a $350 donation from The First State Bank of Rosemount also to be used for Safety Camp. BOX 188 /3050 Lower 147th Street West Rosemount, Minnesota 55068 (651) 423 -2880 ­FAX (651) 423 -2130 City of Rosemount, Minnesota Enclosed is a check in the amount of $ 7, 000.00 from the Rosemount Mid- Summer Faire account to be used for the 2004 Rosemount Mid - Summer Faire. This money should only be used to do the following: 1. Electrical improvement to the Public Works Garage for. plug ins for the Carnival units. This improvement should be 240 volt, 100 amp, fused, disconnect box. ` The carnival housing units can -then wire in their distribution box into this disconnect box. 2. Rental of portable toilets used on the Mid- Summer Faire area, but not in the "beer garden area. 3. Garbage pick up and containers used on the Mid- Summer Faire area, but not in the „ beer garden" area. 4. Hand wash stations used on the Mid - Summer Faire area, but not those in the "beer garden" area. 5. Stipend for a local group to help keep the Mid - Summer Faire area clean during the weekend and help at closing time to clean up the Mid - Summer Faire area. 6. Mailing cost for sending out the application forms and response forms to vendors and exhibitors at Mid- Summer Faire. These funds should not be used to reimburse the City of Rosemount for "in kind services" similar to those given in past years. These funds should not be used to cover the cost of operating the "beer garden" area. If the City staff should have questions on . how Mid - Summer funds, should be used or were used in the past, they should contact me. The City staff needs to look at the electrical service on the back of the old MNDOT garage, That service hasn't been the same since it was moved during the reconstruction of the parking lot. cerely yours, S h P.
