ISSUE
The City of Rosemount and LELS Local #2 (Police Officers) have negotiated in good -faith
and have come to a tentative agreement.
BACKGROUND
Negotiations with the Law Enforcement Labor Services, Local #2, have been completed for a
2004 through 2005 contract. The Collective Bargaining Unit and City have reached a
tentative agreement on the following items:
1. _Article 17, Clothing Allowance: The Employer agrees to changing the dates and
amounts to:
2004 = $640 (an increase of $20 from 2003)
2005 =$660
2. Article 22, Holidays: The Employer agrees to increase the amount of holiday time by
including language for:
8 hours -- floating holiday (non - cumulative)
This would bring the Police Officers to a total of 12 "holidays."
3. Appendix A Wages 2004: 3%
2005: 3%
In addition, the Police Officers have agreed to include a policy on controlled substance and
alcohol testing within the contract.
SUMMARY
LELS Local #2 voted to approve these contract changes at its meeting on April 29. The
changes that have been made to the contract are comparable with other Stanton 6
communities. Therefore, it is requested that Council approve the labor agreement for the
LELS Local #2 Collective Bargaining Unit for the years 2004 through 2005 and to authorize
the necessary signatures.
