Representatives from Rosemount Area Hockey Association (RAHA) have brought forth a concept plan for
improvements to the Rosemount Ice Arena. The proposed improvements would include a player development area
with a shooting range /exercise area and a meeting room above it. The improvements are proposed to be built in the
southwest corner of the arena, in an area is currently being used for storage. RAHA would pay for the improvements
and they would become a permanent part of the arena.
The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the concept plan in April of 2003 and recommended the Council
support the improvements.
Staff is in support of the concept with the following conditions:
• RAHA would make a monetary donation to the City to cover the full cost of the improvements and the City
would coordinate the project.
• RAHA and the City have a facility use agreement.
• RAHA would be responsible for providing all plans and specifications necessary to meet current building
codes and satisfy the City's Building Official
With the support of Council, staff will bring back a request to receive a donation from RAHA and also possibly
bring price quotes depending on the cost estimates for the project.
