RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION to approve a Temporary On Sale Liquor License for the. Dakota County Technical College, 1300 145 Street East, Rosemount, for November 6, 2003. COUNCIL ACTION: i' } CITY OF ROSEMOU NT September 8, 2003 Connie Garrahy, Business Office Dakota County Technical College 1300 145 Street East Rosemount, Minnesota 55068 RE: Temporary Liquor License Dear Connie: CITY HALL 2875 - 145th Street West Rosemount, MN 55068.4997 Phone: 651 -423 -4411 Hearing Impaired: 651.423 -6219 Fax: 651 - 423 -5203 This letter is in response to your phone call regarding an economic development summit event you are planning at the College on November 6. I have enclosed forms for either malt liquor or on -sale liquor depending on what you find out from the organizers and how they wish to include liquor. The fees for these licenses are as follows: Temporary On -Sale Liquor $100, needs City Council and State approval Temporary 3.2% Malt Liquor $85, needs only City Council approval Because the college is considered a non - profit agency, it is allowed to. consider either of these liquor licenses. Insurance in not mandatory, - but -is -often thought to be reassuring. Our City Code for the On -Sale Liquor license does require that the non -profit agency has been inexistence for at least three years. The On -Sale license would allow you to cater the liquor through one of the existing liquor license holders in Rosemount or serve the liquor with your own staff. I hope this information is helpful. Please call if you have further questions. The approval for this would need to go to a City Council meeting on either October 7 th or 21 51. Your application should be to my office at least by the Thursday prior to that meeting date. Sincerely, Linda Jentink City Clerk o FTx s 9 ,.
