The Fire Department Personnel Policy requires the appointment of an Assistant Fire Chi very three years.
The current appointment expires in March 2003 and is currently held by Mike Haeg.
To fill the pending vacancy, applications were solicited and two applications were received. Both candidates
were interviewed by a panel made up of two firefighters, Police Lieutenant Dwayne Kuhns and HR Coordinator
Paula Graff.
Based on the recommendations of the committee and the Fire Chief, I am also recommending that Mike Haeg
be reappointed to the position. Mike Haeg has been serving in the Assistant Chief's position for approximately
six years and has been a firefighter since April 1982.
The assignment will last through March 1, 2006.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPOINT MIKE HAEG AS ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF OF
THE ROSEMOUNT FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR THE PERIOD OF MARCH 1, 2003 THROUGH
MARCH 1, 2006.
