COUNCIL ACTION:
MEMORANDUM
DATE: December 1, 2003
TO: Mayor & City Council
Administrator Verbrug
FROM: Gary D. Kalstabakken•
Chief of Police
SUBJECT: 2004 Liquor License Renewals
As part of the renewal process for the liquor licensees, a review of the police calls for service at
each of the establishments was conducted. During the proceeding 12 months, there have not
been calls at any of the businesses that appear to be a cause for concern. The review included a
comparison of the type and total number of calls at each establishment for the past year
compared to prior years. Activity at each of the businesses is consistent with prior years.
Council did impose an administrative penalty against AMY City Limits during the year for a
license violation; there have not been any recurring problems at City Limits since that action was
taken.
In addition, basic background checks were conducted on each of the owner(s) or manager(s)
submitting applications for licensure. There was no information gathered from the checks that
prohibit the licensing of any of the applicants.
