The offer is conditioned on approval by the City Council. Ms. Lindquist is currently the Community Development Director in Cottage Grove. She has held that position for seven years. Prior to that, Ms. Lindquist was the Principal Planner for seven years at the City of Minnetonka. She has a bachelor s degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and a master's degree in urban and regional planning from the same institution. Staff is also recommending that the salary range for the position be adjusted at this time. In evaluating the salary range, staff reviewed the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area Salary Survey prepared by the Stanton Group to other communities where the position profile most closely matched the and compared the City of Rosemount job responsibilities and this community. Based on that analysis, the maximum salary for the adjusted range is recommended at $83,130. Stag" is further recommending that Ms. Lindquist be paid at the top of the scale based on her experience and qualifications. The recruitment process for the position, begun in early July, brought in two dozen applicants for the position. Thirteen candidates were initially interviewed. Three candidates were brought back for second interviews. In addition to staff participation., Mayor Droste, Council member Riley and Port Authority Chair Baxter were involved in the interviewing process. All of those involved in the process were very impressed with Kim's experience, knowledge, and demeanor. Assuming Council approval, Kim Lindquist will begun her employment on Monday, September 29, 2003. R ECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADJUST THE SALARY RANGE FOR. THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR POSITION AND APPROVE THE HIRING OF KIM LINDQUIST AS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR. COUNCIL ACTION:
