The Council is asked to approve the appointment of Chad Rosa to the position of police officer. Mr. Rosa has
completed the necessary training to be licensed by the Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board
and has been a licensed police officer since 1997. He has been a trooper with the Minnesota State Patrol for
two years and prior to his time with the MSP he was a police officer from 1997 to 2001 with the City of
Rosemount.
There were approximately 125 applicants for this police officer position. Chad finished as the top candidate
after completing the three phases of the selection process.
This position was approved in the 2003 budget and brings the number of licensed police officers to eighteen on
the police department. If approved, Mr. Rosa's expected start date will be Monday, August 4, 2003. His
appointment is contingent upon his successful completion of the required medical and psychological testing.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to appoint Chad Rosa to the position of police officer for the City of
Rosemount contingent on successful completion of the medical and psychological evaluations.
