As you are aware, the construction of an overpass along the Connemara Trail alignment over the railroad tracks
has been proposed for sometime now. With the recent preliminary plat approval for the Minea development, the
alignment for Connemara Trail is established to and across the railroad tracks within the Minea development to
the north and the Bloomfield development to the south. Anticipating the construction of Connemara Trail to the
railroad tracks within these two developments in 2004, the design and construction of the overpass can now be
programmed. Due to the length of time required to design and receive approvals for the proposed overpass,
approximately 10 to 12 months, the preparation of plans and specifications at this time will allow for the
construction of the overpass in 2005.
The construction and completion of the overpass in 2005 will provide for an important connection of the City's
street network, being the only grade separated crossing of the railroad tracks, and will coincide with the
proposed construction of a new fire station on Connemara Trail at Bacardi Avenue.
Staff is recommending City Council authorization to prepare plans and specifications for the Connemara Trail
Overpass.

RESOLUTION 2003 —
A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE
PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
THE CONNEMARA TRAIL OVERPASS
CITY PROJECT #379
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount is interested in the safety of its
residents; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount deem it necessary to construct an
overpass within the alignment of Connemara Trail for the safety and welfare of the population,
and
WHEREAS, the funding for the Connemara Trail Overpass portion of the said project will be
taken from State Aid funds.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount
hereby orders the preparation of plans and specifications for the Connemara Trail Overpass, City
Project #379.
ADOPTED this21 st day of October, 2003.
