ATTACHMENTS: Draft Survey Instrument
APPROVED BY'
Attached for your review is a draft survey instrument of the Resident Survey to be conducted by Decision
Resources, Ltd.
Staff has reviewed the basic survey instrument used by Decision Resources, the previous Rosemount survey,
and recent surveys conducted in Burnsville and Lakeville. City Council members also had an opportunity to
review the basic instrument as well as the Burnsville and Lakeville surveys. Comments were received from
Mayor Droste and Council member Riley. Those comments were incorporated with staff comments that were
forwarded to Decision Resources.
The authorization to proceed with the Resident Survey will require a formal action by the City Council at its
May 20 meeting. Any final revisions or suggestions should be provided as part of the Committee of the Whole
discussion. These changes would be forwarded to Decision Resources immediately on Friday.
Following Council review and approval, it is anticipated that the survey would be "on the street" next week and
wrapped up before the end of the school year.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Give staff direction regarding final revisions to the survey instrument.

because the City Council and City Staff are interested in your
opinions and suggestions about current and future city needs. I

strictly confidential; only summaries of the entire sample will
be reported.

a "host fee" of about $ for the use of the
property.
