Staff have recently held meetings with representatives from the Rosemount Athletic Association (RAAA) to
discuss the need for an athletic facility complex. The meetings have been helpful in reaffirming the stakeholder
input regarding sports facilities received when updating the Parks Trails and Open Space Master Plan in 2002.
Staff would ask the Council to consider forming a task force to review the athletic facility complex and other
facilities that are being requested by residents. Requests have been received for a senior center, second sheet of
ice, arts center and an aquatic center. Staff will provide the council with more information prior to the meeting.
If the council supports the formation of a task force, staff would ask the council to discuss proposed
membership, timeline, goals and objectives.
