As the new council members and mayor take office, it will be beneficial to discuss and establish guidelines on
how to conduct the business of the Council.
The previous Council chose to have the agendas prepared by the city administrator and approved by the mayor.
Items for the agendas from council members were generally added either by the council member contacting the
mayor or administrator and requesting the item be placed on the agenda or by stating the request at a regular
Council Meeting or Work Session.
Staff initiated items were added to the agenda based on state law, city ordinance or policy, or other procedure
established to process contracts, appeals, projects, etc.
