Following a comprehensive application and review process, which included interviewing 10 applicants and
conducting a second interview for four finalists, the City Council is recommending that Kevin Strayton be
appointed to the vacant City Council seat. Kevin is the president of a local financial aid assistance firm.
This seat was vacated on December 20, 2002 when Council Member Sheila Klassen resigned. The term of this
seat extends through the end of 2004.
Pending formal action and approval, Kevin will be sworn in on Thursday, March 6, 2003 prior to the Port
Authority Meeting at 6:00 p.m.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPOINT KEVIN STRAYTON TO THE COUNCIL
MEMBER SEAT VACATED BY THE RESIGNATION OF SHEILA KLASSEN.
