Mayor Droste has received correspondence suggesting that other communities around the country have passed
proclamations supporting the local guard/reserve units, or the local residents currently serving in the military.
The proclamations are intended as recognition of the local service men and women, and not an indication of the
City Council's position on the war in Iraq.
The purpose of the discussion is to gauge the Council's interest in such a proclamation. If there is agreement by
the City Council, this item would be placed on the April 17 agenda.
