LOCATION: Northwest quadrant of Dodd Boulevard and
Shannon Parkway
The County has notified us about a small parcel of land that has been forfeited due to non - payment
of property taxes. The property is located in the northwest quadrant of Dodd Boulevard and Shannon
Parkway. It consists of a 9 -foot wide strip 81 -feet long directly adjacent to the Shannon Parkway
right -of -way. This intersection has been the subject of a lot of discussion related to traffic issues
during the recent reconstruction projects. Recently, the Public Works Staff trimmed trees in the area
of this parcel to improve sight lines. This property would further assist the City in maintaining sight
lines now and in the future. The City is responsible for $6.65 to process the property transfer. Staff
would recommend processing the necessary paperwork to have the property transferred to the City.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION ACQUIRING TAX
FORFEITURE PROPERTY FROM DAKOTA COUNTY.

A RESOLUTION ACQUIRING TAX FORFEITURE PROPERTY
FROM DAKOTA COUNTY
WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount was approached by Dakota County with the option to acquire a
piece of tax forfeiture property, and
WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount deems this piece of property to be a good acquisition for the City
of Rosemount in terms of public safety
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Parcel Identification Number 34- 03010- 017 -80 be
acquired from Dakota County.
ADOPTED this 4`" day of December. 2001.

described parcel has been forfeited to the State of
Minnesota for non - payment of property taxes.
As provided in Minnesota Statutes 282.01, we request
that you either approve the parcel(s) for public
auction or request a conveyance to your municipality
for public use. The redemption period for the
parcel in forfeiture expired on August 28, 2001.
We require a certified copy of the Council
Resolution authorizing any action taken. If you
request that a parcel be conveyed to your
municipality, we also require that the form PT Form
962, "Application By A Governmental Subdivision For
Conveyance of Tax Forfeited Land" (Revised
10/11/96), be completed and mailed to this office.
Please be advised that if the Council fails to

letter, the sale will be deemed approved.
