Approve Project/Order Plans & Spec's/Approve Plans & Spec's for Marcotte Forcemain City Project #329ti i CITY OF ROSEMOUNT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR ACTION CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: May 15, 2001 AGENDA ITEM: Approve Project /Order Plans & AGENDA SECTION: Spec's /Approve Plans & Spec's- Marcotte Forcemain, City Consent Project #329 PREPARED BY: Bret A Weiss, Interim City Engineer AGE r, , p ATTACHMENTS: Resolution APPROVED BY: At the last Council meeting, there was significant conversation related to the M6rdotte Pond Storm Sewer Outlet System. At that time, the Feasibility Report had not been addressed by the Utility Commission, however it was discussed that it may make sense to move forward with the forcemain portion of the project and combine it with the proposed Evermoor 4th Addition, Phase 2 plans that were on the agenda for approval. Council seemed generally agreeable to completing the forcemain portion of the project at this time while the Utility Commission and ultimately the City Council further process information on the appropriate solution for the lift station to serve the pond. This item was addressed at the May 7 Utility Commission meeting and the Utility Commission agreed to move forward with the forcemain portion of this project and at the same time, at the request of the adjacent property owner, delayed any decision on the lift station portion of the project. The adjacent property owner requested time to review the options in the Feasibility Report and asked that the Utility Commission address a recommendation at their next meeting, June 11 th . Consequently, the City Council will not see the Feasibility Report until after the Utility Commission has completed their review of the Report. At this time we are requesting to move forward with the bidding of the forcemain project, possibly in conjunction with the Evermoor 4 Addition plans and specifications. The forcemain plans are ready to be submitted and available for your review. The forcemain is sized to accommodate either a 9 or 15 CFS lift station, depending on how the project is ultimately ordered. Because this project will not be assessed, it does not need to follow the Chapter 429 bidding rules. Consequently the bidding process will be set up in order to receive bids prior to LIIC IlexL 5(;HtUUleU I.UUncll lllUeUll RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPPROVING THE PROJECT, ORDERING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND APPROVE THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE MARCOTTE FORCEMAIN, CITY PROJECT #329.
