CITY OF ROSEMOUNT
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR DISCUSSION

AGENDA ITEM: Sidewalk Review Policy

At the August Committee of the Whole meeting, we reviewed the City's process regarding where sidewalks are to
be located within a new development. The discussion arose out of a request made by the Parks and Recreation
Commission to clarify the process and identify who is responsible for reviewing development plans for the
placement of sidewalks.
The City's process is to have the City Planner receive all development plans and bring them forward to the
Development Review Committee (DRC). The DRC consists of staff from a majority of the City's departments
that review plans for parks, planning, building, engineering, public works and public safety issues. In most cases
the plans are also brought before the Parks and Recreation and Planning Commissions to be reviewed.
Attached is a proposed policy that outlines our procedure for reviewing the location of sidewalks.
RECOMMENDED ACTION \ NOTES: Discussion Only.
