The Fire Department will be conducting school classroom visits the week of October 7 to 13 to celebrate
National Fire Prevention Week. Children are taught responses to fire situations to help save lives and
learn the dangers that fire can impose.
The Fire Station, 14700 Shannon Parkway, will hold an Open House on Tuesday, October 16, 6:30 p.m.
to 9:00 p.m. Demonstrations of equipment will include the LifeLink helicopter, Fire Safety House, car
extrication, and fire hose handling. Agencies attending will include local firefighters, State Fire
Marshal's Office, HealthEast Ambulance, and local utility companies.
Refreshments and door prizes will be available at the Open House.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION to declare the week of October 7 to 13 as National Fire
Prevention Week.
