Background
The City has received bids for most of the 34 construction contracts related to the proposed expansion
and re- modeling of city hall. Amcon Construction, the construction manager for the project, has looked
in brief at the contracts and has identified the structural steel as an item with a long lead time. To stay
on schedule with the project, Amcon and city staff recommend that the City Council award the contract
for supplying the structural steel for the city hall project as shown:
Contractor: K & K Fabrication
Contract: C -5 Structural Steel - Supply
Contract Amount: $69,800.00

DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION 2001 -
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT
FOR THE STEEL FOR THE CITY HALL PROJECT
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota, as follows:
1. All bids on purchase of the steel are hereby received and tabulated.
2. The bid of K & K Fabrication in the amount of $69,800.00 for the construction
of said improvements are in accordance with the plans and specifications and
advertisement for bids is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is
accepted.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on
behalf of the City of Rosemount.
4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all
bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of all
successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a
contract has been executed.
ADOPTED this 1st day of May, 2001.

Recommendations for Steel Contract Award
Dear Mr. Parsons:
We recommend the following Contract for Award for the Rosemount City Hall Expansion & Remodel after the
Bid Opening of April 18, for Bid Package No. 1:
Contract # 5 Structural Steel (Supply) K & K Fabrication $69,800.00
Austin, Minnesota
Please notify us as to whether or not this contract is accepted. If acceptable, we will proceed with the
issuance of contract documents and Notice to Proceed. We will also officially notify the above
mentioned bidder of the Award.
