On October 19, 2000, a public meeting was held to provide residents living near Dallara Park the opportunity
to give input on the replacement of the play equipment at the park. The information received was taken into
consideration when a Request for Proposal was written for purchasing equipment.
The RFP was sent out and the Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the play equipment proposals for
Dallara Park. There were five proposals received and reviewed on the items listed below:
1) Play Value and Overall Design
2) Quality of materials (including warranty and service)
3) Product documentation and supportive data
4) Price
5) Delivery & installation time frame
6) References
At the April 17, 2001, Council meeting, the Council rejected all of the bids that were received from the
original RFP.
Staff put together a new RFP and received five new proposals, which were reviewed by the Parks and
Recreation Commission on Monday, April 24, 2001. The Commission recommended approving the proposal
submitted by Midwest Playscapes for replacing the play equipment at Dallara Park.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the proposal submitted by Midwest Playscapes for the
replacement of the play equipment at Dallara Park.
