Dallara Park Play Equipment - Bid AwardCITY OF ROSEMOUNT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR ACTION CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: May 1, 2001 AGENDA ITEM: Bid for Play Equipment at Dallara Park PREPARED BY: Dan Schultz, Parks and Recreation Director ATTACHMENTS: Site Design AGENDA SECTION: Consent Agenda AGEND APPROVED On October 19, 2000, a public meeting was held to provide residents living near Dallara Park the opportunity to give input on the replacement of the play equipment at the park. The information received was taken into consideration when a Request for Proposal was written for purchasing equipment. The RFP was sent out and the Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the play equipment proposals for Dallara Park. There were five proposals received and reviewed on the items listed below: 1) Play Value and Overall Design 2) Quality of materials (including warranty and service) 3) Product documentation and supportive data 4) Price 5) Delivery & installation time frame 6) References At the April 17, 2001, Council meeting, the Council rejected all of the bids that were received from the original RFP. Staff put together a new RFP and received five new proposals, which were reviewed by the Parks and Recreation Commission on Monday, April 24, 2001. The Commission recommended approving the proposal submitted by Midwest Playscapes for replacing the play equipment at Dallara Park. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the proposal submitted by Midwest Playscapes for the replacement of the play equipment at Dallara Park. COUNCIL ACTION: 2001 SITE PLAN Nobs: 1) This play system design will meet the ADA Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities, effective November 17, 2000, as published by the Architectural and Transportation Barters Compliance Board when Installed over accessible surfacing.. 2) Kick plates are to be installed between all 12' deck Increments. 3) The unit of measure located In the center of the platform indicates the height above the protective surfacing level. 4) The structure size for this unit is WA , requiring protective surfacing for an overall faltzone of 76' X 75' The appro>umate surface area Is 5040 Sq.
