The Utility Commission recommended the preparation of plans and specifications for the
Marcotte Pond Lift Station using the 15 -CFS pump and option at their July 9, 2001 meeting.
As you are aware, the Marcotte Pond outlet has been discussed for the past year since the
July, 2000 storm. Recently, the City Council authorized the construction of the forcemain for
the project, with the question as to the size of the lift station remaining as the final issue. The
Utility Commission, at their July 9i meeting, decided to recommend the design of a 15 -CFS lift
station. This station will minimize future land purchase for easement and will maximize the
outlet capacity. The proposed project will also include pond excavation to increase storage as
well as some minor downstream storm sewer improvements.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR MARCOTTE POND LIFT STATION,
CITY PROJECT #338.

MARCOTTE POND LIFT STATION IMPROVEMENTS

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount
hereby orders the preparation of plans and specifications for the Marcotte Pond Lift
Station Improvements, City Project #338.
ADOPTED this 19th day of July, 2001.
