Sergeants Labor Agreement for 2002-2003CITY OF ROSEMOUNT „ EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR ACTION CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: APRIL 3, 2001 AGENDA ITEM: SERGEANTS LABOR AGREEMENT FOR AGENDA SECTION: 2002, 2003 CONSENT PREPARED BY: PAULA GRAFF, AGEND HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR 6 . - 0; ATTACHMENTS: BACKGROUND SETTLEMENT INTO APPROVED BY: Negotiations for the 2002 through 2003 labor agreement for the supervisory unit of the police department have been completed. The union and the city have reached tentative agreements on the following items: Wages: 2002: 1.5% market adjustments and an annual contractual adjustment of 3.0% (Total increase of 4.5 %) 2003: 1.5% market adjustments and an annual contractual adjustment of 3.0% (Total increase of 4.5 %) The wage adjustment includes increase for market adjustment since our sergeants' pay is below the average wage of cities comparable in size to Rosemount. Currently Rosemount sergeants rank 13' among 18 Stanton Group VI cities. Clothing Allowance: 2002: $15 increase from $585 to $600 annually. 2003: $20 increase from $600 to $620 annually. Tuition Reimbursement: Increase in education reimbursement increase from $750 to 51000 annually. This change makes the sergeant's contract consistent with the City's Personnel Policy. RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPROVE THE LABOR AGREEMENT FOR THE LELS SUPERVISORY UNIT FOR THE YEARS 2002 & 2003 AN TO AUTHORIZE THE NECESSARY SIGNATURES.
