At the work session in March, Council received a preliminary version of the 2001 Resident Survey. Following
that work session, Council Members submitted comments regarding the survey. Those comments have been
combined together into one secondary draft which has subsequently been submitted to Decision Resources.
Decision Resources is in the process of reviewing these comments and assuring the statistical validity of the
survey remains intact. Once a new draft is returned to the City, the Council will have an additional opportunity
to comment and/or make changes before the questions are finalized. Upon finalization of questions, Decision
Resources will begin the actual surveying.
This action by the Council will allow staff to enter into agreement with Decision Resources to proceed with the
survey immediately upon final review of the survey questions by the Council. This is done in the interest of
saving as much time as possible; if council recalls, a delay past the end of the school year will substantially
increase the amount of time needed for Decision Resources to complete the survey.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO AUTHORIZE THE 2001 ROSEMOUNT RESIDENT
SURVEY AND TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH DECISION RESOURCES TO CONDUCT THE
SURVEY UPON COUNCIL REVIEW OF FINAL DRAFT OF SURVEY QUESTIONS.
