To date, staff has interviewed four candidates for the position of Public Works Director. Two of the candidates
were well qualified for the position and were being recommended as finalists. One of these candidates has
since withdrawn from the process, thereby leaving only one finalist for consideration by the Council.
In past recruitment processes, Council has indicated its desire to interview more than one candidate. Based on
this past practice, staff is thereby canceling the interviews scheduled for September 8th
RECOMMENDED ACTION: CANCEL SEPTEMBER 8, 2001 SPECIAL MEETING WHEREIN
COUNCIL WAS TO INTERVIEW PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR CANDIDATES.
COUNCIL ACTION:
