This is a request for Council to approve the hiring of John McNeish for the position of Building Inspector.
Three applicants were interviewed for this position by a panel made up of Mick Kaehler, Building Official; Jim
Parsons, Community Development Director; and myself. Mr. McNeish is currently a Building Inspector with
the City of Woodbury with over 25 years of experience in the construction field. Pending satisfactory
completion of a pre - employment physical and Council approval, Mr. McNeish is tentatively scheduled to start
work September 25`
Staff believes Mr. McNeish is well qualified for the position and recommends his hiring as a Building Inspector
with the City.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPROVE THE HIRING OF JOHN McNEISH FOR THE
POSITION OF BUILDING INSPECTOR.

This is a recommendation for the Council to hire a new Building Inspector for the City of Rosemount. Three
applicants were interviewed for this position by a panel made up of Mick Kaehler, Building Official; Jim
Parsons, Community Development Director; and myself. The name of the selected candidate will be brought
forward at the time of the Council meeting.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO FILL VACANCY IN THE POSITION OF BUILDING
INSPECTOR WITH THE INDIVIDUAL BROUGHT FORTH AT THE TIME OF THE MEETING.
