In 1999, the cities of Apple Valley, Farmington, and Rosemount entered into a Joint Powers Agreement
for telecommunications. A committee was formed to develop cost savings to benefit the three cities and
a cable television coordinator was hired. The cities submitted an application to the state for an
innovation award. I am pleased to announce that we received a Certificate of Commendation from
Governor Ventura for our efforts. The cities continue to work on improving communications to its
residents.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: No action required.
