On November 13, 2000, KIM Engineering received bids for painting the sculpture located near the
Rosemount Plaza and McDivot's. The contractors bidding on this project were given two options for painting
the sculpture. The first option included cleaning, repairing, exterior abrasive blast, painting and clean up.
The second option included cleaning, repairing, exterior power wash, surface prep, spot repair, over coating
and clean up.
Listed below are the bids received for this project. Attached is a letter from KLM Engineering with their
recommendations and a copy of the bid tabulation sheet.

Staff recommends that Council choose option #2 and accept a bid price of $6,400.00 from Champion
Coatings, Inc. for painting the sculpture.
With City Council approval, the painting of the sculpture would take place this spring
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve choosing option # 2 for painting the sculpture and
accepting a bid price of $6,400.00 from Champion Coatings, Inc. to paint the sculpture.

The bid opening was held on November 13, 2000 at 10:OOAM at KLM Engineering, Inc.
The bids received were as follows:

In reviewing the qualifications of the bidders, we find TMI Coatings and Champion
Coaitngs meets the requirements of the specifications and are qualified to do the work.
We recommend you accept the lowest bidder, TMI Coatings, Inc., for Proposal No. 1 for
the reconditioning. Their bid was $19,800.00.
We recommend you accept the lowest bidder, Champion Coatings, Inc. for Proposal
No. 2 for the over - coating. Their bid was $6,400.00
