Use of Park Improvement FeesCITY OF ROSEMOUNT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR ACTION CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: September 5, 2000 AGENDA ITEM: Use of Parks Improvement Funds AGENDA SECTION: CONSENT PREPARED BY: Dan Schultz, Parks and Recreation Director AGENDV * 6 , �[ ATTACHMENTS: None APPROVED BY: The Parks and Recreation Department has been approached by the Rosemount Jaycees, asking -for the City to pave the west hockey rink at Central Park. The process of paving the rink would include sub cutting 9 inches and installing 6 inches of class 5, 1'h inches of bituminous base course and l lh inches of bituminous wear course. After finishing the asphalt work, the surface should sit for approximately six weeks and then would be painted white or grey. The estimated cost for the project is $ 23,500.00. The funding currently in place for this project includes $ 15,000.00 received from the Jaycees and the Parks and Recreation Committee's recommendation of $ 8,616.09 to be spent from the Parks Improvement fund. A request for a donation of $ 4,000.00 has been sent to the RAHA (Rosemount Area Hockey Association) to assist with the project. The RAHA. Board of Directors will be meeting on September 6, 2000 and will be discussing the donation request. Staff is asking the Council to approve spending up to $ 8,600.00 towards the paving of the west hockey rink at Central Park. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to spend up to $ 8,600.00 of Park Improvement Funds towards the paving of the west hockey rink at Central Park. COUNCIL ACTION:
