Civil Engineer For City Council consideration and approval is Administration's recommendation to approve adjustments to salaries resulting from the limited market study for the positions listed below: L Police Chief 2. City Clerk $43,762 - $56,294 $43,762 $56,294 $54,336 - $67,500 $40,596 - $50,748 $37,227 - $48,609 $31,000 - $45,000 Implementation of these recommended salary ranges will come at an immediate cost to the City of $4,470. $2,410 of the increase will go towards compensation of the City Clerk, who recently was promoted from the Assistant to the Administrator position. Also, at the time the pay increase is implemented, the position of Clerk will become an exempt - level position. One of the Recreation Supervisors can expect a $2,060 as the compensation for this position is brought to the bottom of the proposed ranges. Administration recommends that the increase for these positions be effective on the pay period beginning September 17th. Council will note that three of the positions that had been included in the limited market study have been removed from the above list. These positions are Sr. Engineering Tech., Water Resource Engineer and Building Inspector. These three positions are covered by the AFSCME union Local 3857. The Office Manager for AFSCME Local 3857 was in contact with Administration this week. Their membership is planning a meeting on September 13th where they will review the compensation increases proposed by the City for these positions. To allow the opportunity for union comment, these three positions have been pulled from this item. Once the union review is complete, Administration will reintroduce the proposed increases to Council. RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTIO" TO APPROVE THE ABOVE SALARY RANGES EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 17, 2000.
