For City Council consideration is a recommendation to hire Mr. Jim Nalezny for the position of Public Works
Maintenance Worker. The City received 32 applications for this position; seven candidates were interviewed.
The panel agreed that Mr. Nalezny is well qualified for position; he has worked for the City of Apple Valley for
the past ten years in both their Streets and Utilities Department.
Mr. Nalezny has accepted a conditional offer of employment, provided he successfully completes a pre-
employment physical. The City of Apple Valley has already provided evidence of his participation in their drug
and alcohol - testing program. Provided results of the physical are back, his first day will be July 24`
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPROVE THE HIRING OF JIM NALEZNY FOR THE
POSITION OF PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER.
