The City has contracted for emergency pumping with Kieger Enterprises Incorporated out of
Hugo, Minnesota. This item is on the agenda to retroactively ratify the award of a contract to
pump McAndrews Road (County Road 38). This pumping contract circumvented normal
bidding processes because of the emergency situation and needs Council ratification after the
fact.
Quotes received from Kieger reflected lowest price and quickest response time.
Staff recommends that Council ratify the award of the bid to Kieger Enterprises Incorporated in
the estimated amount of $100,000. Since a disaster declaration was made on July 12, 2000,
the majority of this cost will be eligible for reimbursement from FEMA.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF
$100,000 TO KIEGER ENTERPRISES INCORPORTED FOR THE EMERGENCY PUMPING OF
McANDREWS ROAD (COUNTY ROAD 38).
