At the March 15, 2000 City Council work session the City Council reviewed a salary survey prepared
by the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities on City Council wages. By State law City Council
wages must be voted on in a year of an election and not applied until the following year. The
Rosemount City Council has not had an increase in wages for the Mayor and Councilmembers since
1990.
The proposed changes are to adjust the compensation of the Mayor from $4,800 to $5,500 annually and
from $3,600 to $4,800 annually for the City Councilmembers. In addition, per diem payments for the
Mayor and Councilmembers for attending any additional meetings from the regularly scheduled
meetings will be removed from the ordinance.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION to approve AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO
REMOVAL OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBERS: AMENDING CITY CODE
SECTION 2 -1 -1.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 1 -6 -1 RELATING
TO MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS SALARIES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEMOUNT, ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . Section 1 -6 -1 Salaries and Compensation:
A. Salaries Established: Commencing January 1, 2001, the salaries for Mayor and
Council for the City shall be as follows:
Mayor ........... ........................$5,500 annually
Councilmembers .. .........................$4,800 annually
B. Remove entirely.
C. Change to B. remains the same.
