AGENDffM ATTACHMENTS: Resolution APPROVED BY: This item is a request for Council to approve the plans and specifications and order the advertisement for the bids for Biscayne Pointe Third Addition Street and Utility Improvements, City Project #313. We have a set of plans and specifications on file in the Engineering /Public works Department for your examination. Previously the Council held a public hearing and ordered the preparation of plans and specifications on December 21, 1999. The bid opening date has been set for April 28, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at City Hall. COUNCIL ACTION: RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZE THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR BISCAYNE POINTE THIRD ADDITION STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS, CITY PROJECT #313. 1 F CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 2000 - A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR BISCAYNE POINTE THIRD ADDITION STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS CITY PROJECT #313 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount have ordered the preparation of plans and specifications for Biscayne Pointe Third Addition Street and Utility Improvements, City Project #313 and such plans and specifications have been presented to this Council for approval: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota: 1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper and the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications for City Project #313. 3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than three (3) weeks before the date set for opening bids, shall specify the work to be done, shall state the bids will be publicly opened on April 28, 2000 at 10:00 o'clock a.m. at Rosemount City Hall in said City and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashiers check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five (5 %) percent of the amount of such bid. ATTACHMENTS: Proposed Ordinance and Changes APPROVED BY: At the March 15, 2000 City Council work session the City Council reviewed a salary survey prepared by the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities on City Council wages. By State law City Council wages must be voted on in a year of an election and not applied until the following year. The Rosemount City Council has not had an increase in wages for the Mayor and Councilmembers since 1990. The proposed changes are to adjust the compensation of the Mayor from $4,800 to $5,500 annually and from $3,600 to $4,800 annually for the City Councilmembers. In addition, per diem payments for the Mayor and Councilmembers for attending any additional meetings from the regularly scheduled meetings will be removed from the ordinance. -�'k RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION to approve AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 1 -6 -1 RELATING TO MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS SALARIES.
