An application by AMF Bowling Centers, Inc. for On-Sale Liquor and Special Sunday Liquor License has been
received for the business now known as City Limits Lanes and Lounge at 15400 South Robert Trail. Owner
Jean Doyle has agreed to sell their establishment to the corporation of AMF Bowling Centers, Inc. and the name
will be changed to AMF City Limits Lanes. AMF is a nationally know sponsor of bowling tournaments. AMF
does not plan to make any changes to the floor plan or operations of the bar, restaurant, and bowling alley.
The applicants have submitted all required forms, insurance information and license fees. Police Chief Gary
Kalstabakken informed me his criminal and background investigations were positive. He advised me that he
found nothing, which would cause him to recommend denial of the applications based upon his investigation.
The charitable gambling will continue with Community Charities of Minnesota.
The change of ownership is proposed for Wednesday, August 2, 2000, at 11:00 a.m.. This is the normal opening
time for City Limits. I would contact the State of Minnesota Liquor Control Division with the decision of the
City Council August 2°d at 8:00 a.m. and provided all proper forms are in place, the State will issue the needed
buyers card and approve the on-sale liquor licenses.
There will still be five on-sale liquor licenses in the City of Rosemount. State law allows six liquor licenses in
Rosemount at present.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION to approve an On-Sale Liquor License and Special Sunday
Liquor License to AMF Bowling Center, Inc. effective August 2, 2000 for AMF City Limits Lanes.
