Staff will provide an overview of the proposed improvements and will be available to answer any questions you may have. The attached drawing shows the location of the proposed improvements. The project consists of street, trail, storm drain and watermain construction. The total estimated cost to the City of Rosemount is approximately $1,021,000. Part of the project cost is proposed to be recovered through assessments to the benefiting properties, and the remainder is proposed to be recovered from City Core funds and C.I.P. funds, which have previously been encumbered for this project. A copy of the preliminary assessment roll is attached. An open house /public informational meeting was held on March 15, 2000 from 5:00 p.m. - 6 :30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. In addition, the County has sponsored four previous public informational meetings for the larger County project, which extends from Pilot Knob Road in Apple Valley to the east side of Coates. Staff recommends that the attached resolution be passed ordering the project, approving the plans and specifications and approving advertisement of bids by the County. RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE PROJECT, APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND APPROVING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS BY DAKOTA COUNTY FOR COUNTY ROAD 46/TRUNK HIGHWAY 3 STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS, CITY PROJECT #284. COUNCIL ACTION: 3 I CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 2000 — A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE PROJECT, APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND APPROVING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS BY DAKOTA COUNTY FOR THE COUNTY ROAD 46/TRUNK HIGHWAY 3 STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS CITY PROJECT #284 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rosemount ordered a Feasibility Report for the County Road 46/Trunk Highway 3 Street and Utility Improvements, City Project #284; and WHEREAS, the City Council has received and accepted the Feasibility Report on March 6, 2000 for City Project #284; and WHEREAS, an Open House /Public Informational Meeting was held on March 15, 2000 to answer questions and present information regarding the project; and WHEREAS, the City Council ordered and held a public hearing on March 21, 2000 to receive input on this project; and WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the project have been prepared by Dakota County and reviewed by Staff. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rosemount hereby orders the improvements of the County Road 46/Trunk Highway 3 Street and Utility Improvements, City Project #284. NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rosemount hereby approves the plans and specifications prepared by Dakota County and approves the advertisement of bids by the County for the street and utilities, City Project #284 described in the aforementioned Report.
