Each year, the City updates the mileage in its entire street system and certifies this
information, to the Municipal State Aid District Engineer. Through a formula, each
City is allocated a certain number of miles to designate as Municipal State Aid
Streets, which makes that street eligible for receiving MSA funds for construction
and maintenance.
The past year we added 2.34 paved miles to our system. With these miles and
the County Road 38 turnback, where we gave back a MSAS segment to the
County, and the Diamond Path turnback, we can add 2.66 miles to our MSA
system. With our agreement last year with Dakota County and Apple Valley,
Diamond Path and Dodd Boulevard will be added at this time.
With Council's authorization, Staff will submit to MnDOT for approval the
following streets which will be added to the MSA system: one is non - existent, the
extension of Connemara Trail.
• Dodd Boulevard (from western City limits to Diamond Path) (length 90')
• Diamond Path (from 2,350' N of 160 Street to CSAH 42) (length 2,960')
• Biscayne Avenue (from 160 Street to CSAH 42) (length 5,440')
• Connemara Trail (from non - existent Bacardi Avenue to Akron Avenue) (length
5,6001

Staff recommends the motion stated.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MUNICIPAL
STATE -AID STREETS: DODD BOULEVARD FROM WESTERN CITY LIMITS TO DIAMOND
PATH; DIAMOND PATH FROM 2,350" NORTH OF 160 STREET WEST TO CSAH 42;
BISCAYNE AVENUE FROM 160 STREET WEST TO CSAH 42; AND, CONNEMARA TRAIL

RESOLUTION 2000 -
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MUNICIPAL STATE -AID STREETS: DODD
BOULEVARD FROM WESTERN CITY LIMITS TO DIAMOND PATH; DIAMOND PATH
FROM 2,350" NORTH OF 160 STREET WEST TO CSAH 42; BISCAYNE AVENUE
FROM 160 STREET WEST TO CSAH 42; AND, CONNEMARA TRAIL FROM BACARDI
AVENUE TO AKRON AVENUE
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Rosemount that the streets hereinafter described
should be designated as Municipal State -Aid streets under the provisions of Minnesota Law.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount that the roadways
described as follows, to -wit:
• Dodd Boulevard from western city limits to Diamond Path
• Diamond Path from 2,350'N of 160 Street to CSAH 42
• Biscayne Avenue from 160 St W. (CSAH 46) to CSAH 42
• Connemara Trail from Bacardi Avenue to Akron Avenue
be, and hereby are established, located and designated Municipal State -Aid Streets of said City subject to the
approval of the Commissioner of Transportation of the State of Minnesota.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward two
certified copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of Transportation for his consideration, and that upon
his approval of the designation of said streets or portions thereof, that same be constructed, improved and
maintained as Municipal State -Aid Streets of the City of Rosemount, as the following Municipal State -Aid
Streets:
• Dodd Boulevard from western city limits to Diamond Path
• Diamond Path from 2,350'N of 160 Street to CSAH 42
• Biscayne Avenue from 16e St W. (CSAH 46) to CSAH 42
• Connemara Trail from Bacardi Avenue to Akron Avenue
ADOPTED this 21 day of March, 2000.
