"No Parking" Resolution for Biscayne Avenue, City Project #313CITY OF ROSEMOUNT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR ACTION CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: March 21, 2000 AGENDA ITEM: "No Parking" Resolution for Biscayne AGENDA SECTION: Avenue, City Project #313 Conse PREPARED BY: Dave Simons, Consulting Engineer, SEH, Inc. AGEN . b -- ATTACHMENTS: Location Map, Resolution APPROVED BY: This item is for Council consideration to not allow parking on either side of the proposed segment of Biscayne Avenue that borders the Biscayne Pointe 3` Addition. A location map of the proposed no parking area is attached. The proposed street is being designed to State Aid standards and a "No Parking" resolution is required by State Aid for the current design. The proposed street will be 52 feet wide, will be striped for a 12 -foot through lane in each direction, a 12 -foot center left turn lane and an 8 -foot paved shoulder on each side. This striping is consistent with the existing segment of Biscayne Avenue immediately to the south, where the roadway is also posted for no parking. Due to the nature of the adjacent properties, on- street parking is not needed in this area and future traffic is expected to make on- street parking undesirable from a safety standpoint. Therefore, Staff is recommending the adoption of a resolution, which would not allow parking on either side of Biscayne Avenue from a point 200 feet north of Belfast Street West to a point 1,300 feet north of Belfast Street West. RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION DIRECTING PLACEMENT OF NO PARKING SIGNS ALONG BOTH SIDES OF BISCAYNE AVENUE FROM A POINT 200 FEET NORTH OF BELFAST STREET WEST TO A POINT 1,300 FEET NORTH OF BELFAST STREET WEST. COUNCIL ACTION: 1 - 1!
