Community Development Director IT[� � 6 � ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Exhibit "A" APPROVED BY: In order to comply with Minnesota Statues 16B.70, the requirements for charging a state surcharge fee on all permits issued by a municipality, the attached information must be adopted. The state surcharge (tax) must be calculated based on construction "value°. The "value" must be determined by the Building Official by using the current building valuation data as supplied by the State Building Codes and Standards Division (published in May of each year►. To assure a fair and equitable method of establishing " construction value" for other permits, we have included a table of residential building values in addition to the State numbers. Both tables must be adopted to comply with state surcharges statues. RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CHANGE IN THE BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE FOR DETERMINING CONSTRUCTION VALUES. COUNCIL ACTION: CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 1999- A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CHANGE IN THE BiTII.,DING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE FOR DETERIVIINING CONSTRUCTION VALUES WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount, in order to maintain and sustain a progressive and regulated growth, establishes certain fees and ordinances; and WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount wishes to assure that a fair and equitable deternunation of construction value will be computed in the issuance of all city permits; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 16B.70 requires municipalities to collect a surcharge fee for all permits based on the May 1999 Building Valuation Data as provided in the attached E�ibit A.; and WHEREAS, City Code Section 9-1-2 Subpart C, states that the"City Council of the City of Rosemount shall establish fees and rates by City Council resolution." NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rosemount hereby approves and adopts the Minnesota Building Valuation Data schedule for May 1999 as published by the Minnesota Department of Administration, Building Codes and Standards Division identified herein as Exhibit A, effective immediately, including E�ibit A-1 "Residential Building Valuations". The following building valuation data is provided for use in computing the building permit surcharges for remittances to the State or for comparison with valuations submitted by the applicant for permits.
