APPROVED BY: The selection committee has completed the process for recommending play equipment designs for Biscayne Park, Central Park, Claret Park, and Family Resource Center. After six hours of deliberation the committee reviewed 19 proposals, scoring each proposal on the following criteria: 1) Play value and overall design - 25 points. 2) Quality of materials (including warranry and service) - 20 points. 3) Product documentation and supportive data - 10 points. 4) Price - 10 points. 5) Delivery & installation time frame - 15 points. 6) References - 20 points. The selection committee scored Flanagan Sales (Little Tikes) with the highest score on all four parks! Flanagan Sales offered the best overall designs and the greatest incentives for multiple park orders. Their theme for Central Park was the strongest. And, they offered the lowest price for full installation (only $400 to $500 per park extra to install all equipment without volunteers). The selection was presented to the Parks and Recreation Committee, which unanimously recommended City Council approval. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the play equipment contracts with Flanagan Sales for Biscayne Park, Central Park, Claret Park, and Family Resource Center.
