Heads ` SUBJECT: Additional Information for 6/14/99 City Council Meeting Attached are the bid results and appropriate resolutions for City Projects 306 and 31 l, Items 6.g. and 6.f. on the agenda. � � MEMORANDUM TO: City Councii FROM: Bud Osmundson, City Engineer/Public Works Director DATE: June 14, 1999 RE: 1999 Structural Overlay and Appurtenant Work City Project#306 Koch-Minnesota Trail Improvement City Project#311 On Friday,June 11, 1999, bids for the 1999 Structural Overlay and AppurtenantWork, City Project#306,and Koch-MinnesotaTrail Improvement,City Project#311 were received and read aloud publicly. Six (6) bids were received on each project. The low bidder for both projects is McNamara Contracting, Inc. of Apple Valley. McNamara's bid for the 1999 Structural Overlay project, City Project #306, is $46,985.00. The bids on City Project#306 ranged from the low bid to a high bid of$51,086.50 and the Engineer's Estimate was $53,675.00. McNamara's bid for the Koch-Minnesota Trail Improvement, City Project #311, is $75,452.00. The bids on City Project #311 ranged from the low bid to a high bid of $182,793.14 and the Engineer's Estimate was $87,850.00. Staff recommendsthe award of both projectsto McNamara Contracting,Inc., in the amount of$46,985.00 for City Project#306 and $75,452.00 for City Project #311. The bid of McNamara Contracting, Inc., in the amount of 546,985.00 for the construction of said improvements in accordance with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids is the lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is accepted. 3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of the City of Rosemount. 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of all successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
