The Council is asked to consider the expenditure of$535.18 from the Police Equipment Fund. These funds will
be used to purchase a hand-held radar unit. The radar will be used by officers in some situations,but is
primarily intended to be used by citizens to conduct traffic surveys in their neighborhoods. Citizens that have
concerns about speeding vehicles will be given a short training session on the use of the radar and logs to record
the findings of the radar surveys.
The hand-held radar unit will be used to complement our use of the Speed Monitor Trailer and enforcement
efforts in responding to concerns of speeding motorists.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: MOTION TO APPROVE THE EXPENDITURE OF DONATED FUNDS
